VFL for Kids!

We have TONS of stuff going on for kids!

Check out some of the things you'll find at the library:

 Great Books!

We have lots of great books!  Picture books and chapter books, fiction and non-fiction books.  Books for babies and books for parents.  Books on tape and books on CDs.  Books to read alone or books to read together.

Looking for something new to read?  Check out some of these places for suggestions:

ALA's Notable Childrens's Books  The American Library Association's choices for the best books of the year.

Guys Read  Books recommended by the site's webmaster, children's author Jon Scieszka, and others suggested by visitors to the website.

Kidsreads  Kidsreads is a great place for kids to find info about their favorite books, series and authors. Reviews of the newest titles, interviews with the coolest authors and special features on great books are there. For even more reading fun they have trivia games, word scrambles and awesome contests!

OWWL.org  Check out the Pioneer Library site for suggestions for great books.  Look at the "Rave Reads" section for lists of books recommended just for kids.  Check out the "Kid's Library" for some suggested topics.   Or simply type in your favorite author's name or a certain subject and see what comes up!

Fun times!

We have something happening for every member of the family at the library.  Check out our various programs:

Story Times:  We have story time programs for children of all ages.  Mother Goose Time is a lap-sit program for babies ages 0-18 months and their caregivers.  Toddler Time is a lap-sit program for children ages 18-36 months and their parents or caregivers.  Preschool Story Time is an independent story time for children ages 3 to 5.

Summer Reading Program:  The Victor Free Library's summer reading program is designed to keep children reading and enjoying books during the summer months.  There are reading clubs for all ages, movie afternoons, activity days, and our very popular "Paws for Reading" program.

Special Events:  The library offers special programs for children and their family throughout the year.  These programs will be advertised on our website, library blog, in the media and in the library.
